Stefano Cardo

Born in Padua in 1976, was approached to musical practice by his father while still young. At the age of 10 he  began the clarinet study with Grazioso Gastaldello.
He graduated under Professor Addesso at the  Conservatory of Venice with highest honors. He studied further with various teachers such as Antony Pay, Charles Niedich, Thomas Friedli and Eward Brunner.
He continued his studies with Fabrizio Meloni attending the Scala’s  Theatre Academy.
He studied chamber music and contemporary music and taking part in premieres at Biennale di Venezia with “Laboratorio Novamusica” by Giovanni Mancuso.
He undertook on his own the study of bass clarinet. He was selected to partecipate in Millenium Gala Tour EUYO orchestra under the direction of Vladimir Ashkenazy.Later  he began to work  as bass clarinet with the Santa Cecilia Academy’s Orchestra, Theatre and La Scala Philarmonic, Italian Swiss Radio Orchestra, the Symphonic Orchestra of Rome and the RAI National Symphonic Orchestra.
In 2005 he won the competition for the role of principal bass clarinet in the National RAI Symphonic Orchestra in wich he remained until 2007 when he won the competition for the same role in the La Scala Theatre Orchestra and in La Scala Philarmonic.
